A MULTI-AWARD winning cafe has been shortlisted for recognition at a ceremony which celebrates ethical provision of food.

Brunch Bistro, on Greenes Road, Whiston, has been named on the shortlisted for the Good to Go category of the Food Made Good Awards 2018.

The event is the Sustainable Restaurant Association’s (SRA) annual industry accolades for the most "progressive purveyors of food and drink", of which Raymond Blanc is president.

The 'Good to Go Award' is awarded to a restaurant shown to have done the most to prove that principles do not have to be removed when taking away food.

It is one of 17 that will be presented at a ceremony on October 1 at FEST Camden in London.

Brunch is run by Sharon Carline and family.

After being shortlisted, Sharon said: “We are totally thrilled to be up for another award, its absolutely brilliant that a small business like ours to be recognised out of thousands of takeaways for one of these prestigious awards

"We are very passionate about what we do at Brunch and to be recognised nationally for the passion we have about food – from sourcing and delivering good quality food, caring about our community, our environment, sustainability and traceability is just amazing.

"It just goes to show, if you believe and care about what you do anything is possible."

The Food Made Good Awards recognise restaurants and food service businesses whose accomplishments in the last year have driven progress in the industry and demonstrated that all food can be made delicious, ethical and sustainable.

On the night, Brunch will be up against Joe & ‘Za from London and Kingfisher, in Plymouth.
