RESUBMITTED plans to turn a former shop into a takeaway in Earlestown have been refused.

The proposals attracted several objection from residents which stated there are "already man existent takeaways/restaurants in Earlestown".

Another said the takeaway would have a "detrimental" impact upon residents with one stating there are flats directly above and that the business would "undoubtedly disturb" occupants.

One resident also claimed parking for existing shops' delivery drivers is a "nightmare" and said if plans were granted it would impose "an injustice to local people".

Planning officers concluded "it is likely that undue harm would be caused to residential amenity".
