POLICE found three suspects hiding in a loft after a delivery driver was assaulted and had his van stolen.
A delivery driver was punched to the back of his head and subject to a robbery this afternoon (Friday) on Ash Grove in Whiston while carrying out his duties.
The van was stolen along with a vast amount of parcels set to be delivered to residents in the area.
Shortly afterwards, officers attended a property on Coronation Drive, Whiston and forced entry after no-one answered the door.
Police found three suspects hiding in the loft of the property.
The stolen vehicle has been recovered by officers which will be forensically examined.
Three men, aged 32 , 30 and 29 were arrested in connection with the incident.
Police say one of the men was wanted in connection with a theft offence which occurred in Prescot earlier in the week.
