PARK rangers are looking for help to tidy up Taylor Park in the next couple of weeks.

This Saturday, August 11, the team has arranged a litter pick around the park – while on the following Wednesday, August 15 they will be cleaning out the lake now that the lake level has dropped - removing as much rubbish, wood and stone as possible.

St Helens Council’s cabinet member for better neighbourhoods, Cllr Lynn Clarke, said: “We’re lucky to have so many beautiful parks and open spaces in our borough which visitors should be able to enjoy without coming across eyesores such as litter.

“Our Rangers do a fantastic job of maintaining our parks, but to ensure all ground is covered when it comes to removing litter, it’s always good to see the public and community groups like the Friends of Taylor Park and St Helens Model Boat Club show great pride and spirit by offering their time to help out, which is hugely appreciated in return.”

Both events will take place between 10am to noon and anyone interested in taking part is asked to meet outside the Boathouse café just before 10am.

Litter pickers and bin bags will be provided; participants are just asked to bring along their own gloves and wear suitable footwear.
