RESIDENTS have expressed anger and shock after graffiti was spotted on the memorial on the Steve Prescott Bridge.
The vandalism, which contains lewd words and images, was spotted by passers-by crossing the bridge this morning (Saturday).
Matt Pryor said: "I was crossing the Steve Prescott bridge this morning and noticed this!
"I'm so disgusted that some scrote has done this, and they lack respect. Just awful!"
Others have also expressed their disgust today on social media.
One said: "Just when you think some peopel couldn't stoop any lower. No respect today."
The memorial was opened in February 2014, when the former Saints Way bridge was renamed in Steve's honour shortly after his passing.
Former Saints player Steve died in Novmber 2013, aged 39 following an inspirational battle after he was diagnosed with pseudomyxoma peritonei in 2006.
