THIS photograph has been shared with the Star by John Topping, featuring three amateur international rugby league players.
John, from Blackbrook, says the photograph dates from 1963, and features three amateur players from St Helens who were chosen to play in the same amateur international game at Bell Vue, Wakefield.
John says the photo depicts, from left to right, Chris Gaskell, of the St Helens B side and Jimmy Tickle and Les Greenall, of Blackbrook.
John said: "Chris joined Blackbrook just after this photo was taken.
"It was the first time three players from the same town had played in an England side."
John says the photographer was Geoff Williams, of Central Studios, George Street, St Helens.
