A MAN was arrested on suspicion of possessing class A drugs after police were called to reports of people entering back gardens in the town centre.
Officers received a report of two men seen entering back gardens on Friday (July 20) on Hardshaw Street.
Police conducted a quick search of the area and two people matching the description were found and searched.
Officers found heroin and crack cocaine.
A man was arrested on suspicion of possession of heroin and of crack cocaine.
Issuing a warning after the incident, St Helens Police said: "Please be mindful of your own home security.
"Make sure gates, doors and windows are locked, including upstairs windows. People will often look for a soft targets, don't be one!"
