ST Helens town centre has been full of a host of exciting tastes and smells yesterday, as the International Food and Drink festival landed in town as part of the 150th anniversary celebrations.

The two day event, which will include today Saturday, is part of St Helens' 150th anniversary celebrations, is free to attend and will see a variety of food and drink stalls from around the world set up in Church Square.

Stalls including 'Chimey' doughnuts, fried calzone, vegan carribbean food, luxury hot dogs, homemade lemonade, Asian street food, and more were on offer in Church Square are on offer in the sunshine, with live musical entertainment from The Lancashire Hotpots and a Bavarian Oompah band.

Among the many stalls is also a gin and fizz bar which includes a range of summer-inspired gins, Prosecco and strawberry Bellini,

Nyama Choma Woks Cluckin (Asian street food); Bit’er Sweet Hog (hog roast), and Dough 'n' Co (sourdough pizza).

St Helens International Food and Drink Festival will be back in town from 10am to 6pm today.
