TWO wine-loving sisters have turned their passion into a business as they prepare to launch their new bar The Wine Club on Thursday, June 21.

Sisters Danielle Milnes, 35 and Rochelle Garbutt, 33 both from Rainhill, boast 40 years of experience between them. They started out as glass collectors, then moving to waitressing, bartenders and restaurant managers.

The pair openly admit they even choose their holiday venues based on the wine and food choices in the region.

Over the years their passion has seen them travel the world visiting, living and working in locations including South Africa, New York, Italy, Spain and more recently Australia.

They hope their new addition to Dane Court, Rainhill will pride itself on serving quality but affordable wines from around the globe. They will also be serving cheese, meats, breads and olives.

Rochelle said: "Owning our own business has been nothing but a pipe dream for a while now.

"Danielle and I both found ourselves feeling a bit lost with our career prospects, but after a short chat we had a walk around the village and spotted the venue and decided that day we wanted to go for it."

The venue will not only offer a relaxed bar area they will also retail wines, boutique spirits and deli products as well as bespoke wine hampers and gift boxes shortly after opening on Thursday at 7pm.

Mum-of-two Danielle added: "We are very excited about the prospect of holding monthly private wine tasting evenings with varying themes, exploring certain countries and matching wines with cheeses or chocolates.

"People from experts to those with zero knowledge will feel relaxed in our informal environment, it’s all about having fun."

The venue will be available to book for private parties and corporate meetings.
