POLICE were called to a children's playing area in Prescot after a seven-year-old boy came across a knife.
Officers were called to the play area on Brown's Field park in Prescot this afternoon (Tuesday) following the recovery of the knife at the location.
In a statement, Knowsley Police said: "Some excellent maturity by the child who informed his mum immediately after finding the knife".
They added: "We would like to reassure parents and users of the park that no further items have been located by officers today.
"We would always ask that you remain vigilant taking note of what is around you and report anything suspicious to us asap".
