EMERGENCY services were called as a man was seen on a bridge over the St Helens Linkway standing on the wrong side of the railings.
Police confirmed they attended a report of concern for the safety of a man in his 20s, who was on The Score, over the Linkway at around 2pm on Sunday (May 13).
Police, fire officers and ambulance attended the scene.
The man was taken to hospital for assessment by North West Ambulance Service a short time afterwards, a police spokesman said.
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman confirmed their services were not required during the incident.
