A ROBBER brandishing a machete threatened staff at a convenience store in St Helens.
Police were called to Londis on New Street at around 6.45pm last night.
It is believed that a man entered the shop in possession of a machete and made threats to staff before stealing cash.
Staff were unhurt and the man reportedly ran off via an alley onto Irwin Road.
The man is described as white, 5ft 9ins tall and wearing a grey hoody with a grey baseball cap underneath.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing and officers will be in the area to provide reassurance to businesses.
