A DEVELOPMENT of 68 family homes has been awarded planning permission on the former British Insulated Callenders Cables site.
Knowsley Council awarded permission to Stewart Milne Homes, which acquired the BICC site on Scotchbarn Lane, Prescot. The works was demolished in 2006.
They plan to start construction in the coming months on the two, three, four and five-bedroom home development.
Paul Challinor, managing director of Stewart Milne Homes North West, said: “We have already received significant interest from potential buyers. We look forward to delivering these new homes at Callenders Green and assisting with the council’s regeneration plans.”
Knowsley Council leader, Cllr Andy Moorhead said: “This development, which is taking place on another brownfield site in Prescot also supports our growth plans, bringing new investment into the borough which can then be reinvested for the benefit of our communities.”
