A BIKE ride to raise funds for the #NoMoreKnives campaign in memory of Danny Fox will take place this Saturday.
Danny, 29, died after he was stabbed on North John Street in the town centre in September 2016.
Leighton Holt, who walked free from court after a jury failed to reach a verdict following a retrial, had been carrying a blade.
Danny’s family have been raising awareness of knife crime and aim to raise funds to get knife wands into bars in the town centre.
The first event as part of the campaign will see cyclists get on their bikes to head from Taylor Park to Southport and back on Saturday, February 17 at 9.30am.
Another group will also set off from the same park to Whiston Hospital before heading to Daniel’s memorial bench at Thatto Heath park.
Dawn Jones, Danny’s aunt, said: “It’s heartwarming that everybody, even in February weather, will come together in memory of Daniel to support this campaign.
“I have to thank Daniel’s friend Ste Grayson for his hard work organising the ride and hope everyone will come to see us off.”
People are asked to meet at 9am.
