TWO homeless dogs have their paws crossed in the hope that they'll find love this Valentine's Day.

Four-year-old german shepherd cross Bailey and three-year-old lurcher Peggy are searching for their forever families while being looked after at Dogs Trust Merseyside.

Bailey found himself back at the rehoming centre in November 2013 after his owner could no longer look after him.

It is hoped he will find his forever home with children aged over 16 and be the only dog in the household - although he does love to walk with fellow four-legged friends.

Peggy is a playful and excited pooch who loves nothing more but to play with squeaky toys.

She's an intelligent dog with a lot of love to give and loves training - especially if there's a treat involved.

Peggy is happy being left home alone for a few hours and would love a home with children aged over 15.

Assistant manager at Dogs Trust Merseyside Catherine Stulberg said: “Bailey and Peggy are both fantastic dogs and very affectionate.

"They have so much love to give so we’re really hoping they find their ideal homes this Valentine’s Day.

Peggy is also looking for love this Valentine's Day

“Bailey’s perfect partner is someone who loves to get out and about for long walks and although Peggy is a little shy at first, she quickly grows in confidence and when she is taken for a walk she doesn’t have eyes for anyone else other than the person she is with.

“Bailey and Peggy really deserve to find their love match and we really hope they steal someone’s heart this Valentine’s Day.

"They have seen so many of their canine companions head off to their forever homes and it is such a shame as they are both lovely dogs who simply need to be given a chance to show all the love they have to give.”
