POLICE have issued a CCTV appeal after a man attempted to deliver cannabis by post.

The man entered the post office on Warrington Road, Rainhill and produced an envelope which he requested be delivered to an address in County Durham before leaving.

Staff noticed a strong smell of cannabis and informed police, who attended and found four bags of cannabis inside the envelope, which were seized.

Police have issued a CCTV still of a man they believe may have information in relation to the drug supply investigation.

The man entered the post office at around 3.10pm on Wednesday, January 31.

Constable Barry Woodbridge said: "We believe that the man pictured may have vital information to assist this investigation, so I would encourage him or anyone who recognises him to come forward as soon as possible.”
