A DOG has gone missing after yobs hurled fireworks at her in a park.

Nora, a two-year-old Collie Cross, bolted into the darkness after a rocket landed nearby her on Wednesday, December 27.

Owner Michelle Deluce, 27, who was walking Nora with two other dogs in Sutton Park at 5pm when the firework was thrown, has made a desperate appeal to trace her.

Michelle, who lives in Sutton Leach, told the Star: "The youths were about 20 feet away and sent a firework shooting across the park. It landed nearby and Nora was terrified. She was spooked and just bolted.

"She ran off in the direction of St Helens Junction railway station. There have been a couple of sightings – the last one between junctions 7 and 8 of the M62.

"We are desperate to get her back – but I would ask if people see her don't go after her because she will be scared. If they let let me know where she is I think she'll come to me.

"I'm heartbroken and just want her back."

Nora is originally a rescue dog from Romania. She was taken in by Michelle, who volunteers at Phoenix dog rescue in Warrington.
