THERE will be a series of fantastic firework displays taking place in this week across the borough.

These include:

n Sherdley Park which is hosting its free extravaganza on Sunday, November 5. The event will see fireworks launched in rhythm with popular music tracks.

A children’s display begins at 7pm, with the main spectacle at 8pm and a funfair will start at 6pm and run until the event closes at 9pm.

Hot food and drinks will also be available from a number of stalls.

Event-goers are asked to leave their sparklers at home as used ones can be missed during the clear up operation and cause serious injuries to those taking part in sports activities or dogs being walked.

Parking is available at Mere Grange (£5), Lea Green Station, Sutton Academy and The Islamic Centre (£10) and Chester Lane Centre.

n Rainford bonfire and fireworks will be held this Saturday, November 4, and organisers say it will be great for kids and adults alike, with an exciting display complete with music.

The bonfire will be lit at 6pm and the fireworks will start at 6.45pm.
