POLICE are investigating allegations of assault after a man was injured in St Helens.
Officers were called to Phoenix Brow, off Corporation Street, shortly after 1pm following reports of a slight altercation.
The victim, a man in his 20s, is believed to have been involved in a fracas with another man.
Officers are still at the scene talking to witnesses.
A spokesman for Merseyside Police said: “It appears that there was an altercation in the street involving two men.
“There are no signs of any serious injury.
“The police are investigating. No arrests have been made.”
