A QUESTION Time-style panel debate focusing on obesity in the borough is heading to town next month.

The F Word – How does St Helens tackle the rising tide of obesity? hosted by the BBC’s Kevin Fitzpatrick, will feature health experts: Kate Anderson, head of service development at ABL Health, Lisa Ellis, chief nurse from St Helens CCG, Kevin Hardy, medical director at St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospital NHS Trust and Victoria Roberts, deputy principal at St Helens College.

Taking place at the Totally Wicked Stadium on World Obesity Day, Wednesday, October 11, organisations will also have the chance to sign up to the town’s Healthy Weight Declaration and help to shape St Helens’ vision to ‘grow the economy, not our waists’.

The event takes place from 6pm to 8pm and refreshments will be provided.

The aim is to learn more about best practice in raising the issue of obesity and, for people to get involved in a lively debate.
