A FUNDRAISING event in memory of beloved poet and actor Len Saunders will be held on Saturday.
The event, at Lucem House Community Cinema Plus, had been planned for months to raise funds to provide wheelchair access at the Corporation Street venue.
However, in view of the sad loss of Len, 65, who was a steward at the small cinema, the event is also a tribute to him
The event will include Les Glover's Short songs and tall stories on Saturday, September 16 from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
Tickets cost £6 and can be purchased at wegottickets.com/event/412994.
Len, who was well-known in the St Helens art scene, died in hospital on Sunday, July 30 - nine days after he was attacked on Ward Street because he did not give a drunken yob a cigarette.
Luke Woods, 17 was sentenced to four years and four months in a Young Offenders Institute after pleading guilty to manslaughter on August 30.
