LAUGHTER, drama, music, dance and a good old fashioned pantomime – all are on offer at the St Helens Theatre Royal in the coming weeks

The Corporation Street theatre has launched its new season outlining another programme of shows with something for all the family in September and October.

Next week The King is Back will see Ben Portsmouth bring Elvis Presley to town in a one-night only event on Thursday, September 14.

This will start a musical nostalgia month as 80s Mania will be taking to the stage on Friday, September 15 followed by The Carpenters Story on Saturday, September 16.

The irresistible dance tunes of the Glenn Miller Orchestra will be in town on Sunday, September 24 as well as a popular tribute to Liverpool legend in The Billy Fury Years on Saturday, September 30.

October will also bring in the fun with the hilarious Grumbleweeds at their Laughter-Noon Show on Sunday, October 1. And laughter will be guaranteed when Sir Ken Dodd, returns on Thursday, October 5 with his hugely popular Happiness Show.

If music is more your thing then they also have you covered, starting with the Stars of Irish Country Show on Monday, October 2 with four of Ireland’s favourites – Mick Flavin, Louise Morrisey, Stephen Smyth and Frank McCaffrey. Dancing Queens out there will also want to grab their platforms for Thank Abba For the Music on Friday, October 6.

Later in the month there is The Haunting at Greenacre Cottage on Saturday, October 7 followed by sassy musical Sister Act from Thursday, October 12 to Saturday, October 14, which promises to get people dancing in the aisles.

Sleeping Beauty fans an rejoice too, as the acclaimed Vienna Festival Ballet will show off the classic fairytale in one of the world’s best-loved ballets on Sunday, October 8.

And Liverpool star Claire Sweeney will be starring as the evil fairy Carabosse in a pantomime version from Saturday, October 21 to Sunday, October 29.
