A STOLEN motorbike and a quad bike have been seized by police after reports from the public.
Officers seized the quad bike on Hammond Street, Parr at around 8.30pm on Wednesday, August 16 – with one officer posting a picture of himself trying to move it on social media.
A stolen silver Kawasaki motorbike was also seized in Lyme Country park, Haydock on Tuesday, August 15.
It had been reported stolen from Wigan on August 1.
Sergeant Paul Meath said: "These seizures are a great example of the positive action we can and will take when members of our communities provide information on the illegal and nuisance use of off-road motorbikes.
"I would encourage people to pass on information which allows us to investigate fully and bring those responsible to justice.
"Our officers continue to work proactively to find and disrupt those who use and store illegal and nuisance off-road motorbikes.
"We will continue to act on any information so if you know where these bikes are being stored or who is storing them, call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111."
