A BURGLAR smashed a kitchen window to get into a house before taking the keys to a motorbike which was then stolen.

Police are appealing for information from the public the incident, which happened in Forest Road in broad daylight on Thursay, August 10 between 10.15am and 4.30pm.

Once inside the address the suspect conducted an untidy search and stole the keys to a Yamaha FZ6 Fazer motorcycle - registration number AY56 EJU -, police said.

After finding the keys the suspect forced entry into a detached garage and stole the bike before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

Enquiries in relation to the incident are ongoing and officers are keen to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident and may have witnessed anything suspicious.

Detective Inspector Jason Pye said: “Burglary is a despicable act as its targets people in the one place they should be able to feel safe, their own home.

“Forest Road is a busy road and I am certain that there will be somebody who will have seen something, no matter how small, and I urge them to contact the team here at St Helens so we can bring the offenders to justice.”
