POET Alison Chisholm made a visit to St Helens Writers' Club to give members some words of inspiration.
Alison spent two hours talking to writers, sharing some of her own poems and passing on some top tips.
Alison is also a tutor, conference speaker and poetry consultant for Writing Magazine.
“It was a brilliant evening,” said Marian Cleworth, club secretary.
“Alison not only brought us the sparkle, magic and humour of her own poems but generously gave us top tips on making our poetry shine above the rest.
"From new writers amongst us to published poets, we were left wanting more.”
St Helens Writers’ Club meet on alternate Wednesdays from 7.15to 9.15pm at the Christian Life Centre, Atherton Street. For more contact Marian on 07720048029 or see the St Helens Writers' Club’s Facebook page.
