SINCE 1962 I have been a “floating voter”, initially as a young man I was a Labour supporter in the mid 1960’s as a fan of “ the politician’s politician” Harold Wilson.
My faith in Labour declined rapidly under Tony Blair and Alistair Campbell.
The “Labour Civil War” – St Helens Star, May 11 2017 - prompts me to comment on the antics of local politicians.
Barrie Grunewald has been on the receiving end of the same kind of treatment he dished out to Marie Rimmer.
Cllr Grunewald has sacked local councillors from the cabinet who are honestly motivated to work for the good of the community.
Not surprisingly, his remaining supporters say he is the best man for the job. But who wouldn’t if you got a council cabinet salary?
This reminds me that everyone should shut up and pay up for green bin collections, you surely don’t expect the £600,000 budget for councillors’ salaries and expenses to be cut?
