WHEN St Helens Council are trying to encourage us to recycle, why are they charging for green bins?
I can understand charging for the brown bins as I have been informed it is costing the council £68 per tonne, in tax, for rubbish to go to landfill.
I have seen cans, plastic bottles, cardboard and glass in people’s brown bins.
Now I think people will put their garden rubbish in a black bin bag and put it into their brown bins, resulting in more rubbish for landfill.
