A FATHER whose nine-week-old baby girl died has spoken of his desire to repay a hospital's support for helping his anguished family through “the most terrible period of our lives".
John Hodson, 47 and Nasreen Begum, 44, lost their daughter Skye Hodson after she died in her sleep on December. Skye had previously been in good health despite a bout of bronchitis when she was first born.
Skye was taken to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital where specialist staff supported her parents and family following her death.
The grieving parents are planning to host a charity concert night to raise money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in her memory.
John Hodson, from Clock Face, who is a drummer in a metal band , is hosting a Concert for Skye at Rendezvous Bar on Church Street, and has asked other bands to join him in raising money for the hospital who supported his family.
Fork lift driver, John, said: “Skye had overcome her bronchitis and was doing really well, she died suddenly in her sleep and it was the most terrible period of our lives.
“However, the support we received as an entire family from Alder Hey was just amazing and they did everything they could to support us so we just want to give back.
“I approached Rendezvous Bar and family, friends and other bands and all of them have been so good in helping us to put this night together which has really helped us.
“Anyone who can come would be more than welcome.”
Other bands at the event include Salander, Swampstompers, Six Shot, Ghengis Grimes, Titors Insignia and M.S.P.
The event will take place on April 22 from 3.30pm until late and tickets cost £2.
