THE opening of St Helens' latest attraction - the £1million Air Factory in Lea Green - which was scheduled to take place today (Monday) has been cancelled as the centre is still not ready.
The attraction, with 100 trampolines, was set to open this morning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and free trampolining sessions all day for people who had pre-booked online.
The 12,000 sq ft centre, in St Michaels Road, has been four months in the making, and bosses say they cannot give a revised opening date, but say a new date will be announced as soon as possible.
Bin Chen, Air Factory UK's director, said: "Air Factory will not be opening on Monday 26th September.
"This is due to a number of modifications, which are necessary to improve the experience for our customers."
He added: "We will keep you updated and let you know when we are ready to open."
Air Factory's attractions also include three Olympic-sized trampolines, a ninja warrior obstacle course, battle beams, foam pits and slam dunk aisles.
Once open, Air Factory, which has created 25 full-time and 40 part-time jobs, will open seven days a week, until late.
The attraction has capacity for 120 users at a time, with sessions costing from £7 and lasting an hour.
