POLICE have urged the public to be cautious after morphine tablets were stolen from a house.
At 7pm last night (Thursday) police received reports a packet of 28 x 60mg morphine tablets and a packet of 28x10mg morphine tablets were taken from the house in Clarence Street, Newton-le-Willows last night.
A police statement read: "Officers are reminding people that taking any medication which has not been prescribed for them can be dangerous and, in some circumstances, can prove fatal. The burglary is under investigation.
"Anyone with information on the burglary or who finds any of the medication is asked to hand it in to any pharmacy or police station and call officers on 101, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111."
