A GENEROUS schoolgirl had her long flowing locks cut at the weekend to help children with cancer.
Eva Morgan, who attends Merton Bank Primary, had her long hair cut short at a public event at the Primrose Vaults on Park Road last Saturday (January 30).
Leah Jayne, daughter of Primrose manageress Sue cut Eva's hair on the day which is to be donated for wigs for children suffering from cancer.
“She saw something on the television and asked could she have her hair cut,” said Eva's mum, Suzanne, 30.
“It’s the first time she has done something like this. She wanted to do it to help the children and have the hair sent to them.
"It went really well, Eva loved it. She was a bit overwhelmed at first because everyone started cheering but she was made up with it," added Suzanne, from Fingerpost.
The fundraising event saw a disco, refreshments, a raffle and stalls at the venue on the day.
"It was a brilliant day and was really good," added Sue, from the Primrose.
