A WOMAN was trapped in her car following a collision involving three vehicles on Scafell Road in Moss Bank.
Firefighters had to cut the 45-year-old out of the car by removing the driver's door. She was conscious and assessed by a paramedic who confirmed she had a fracture to her left ankle. She was then taken to Whiston Hospital.
Two vans were also involved in the incident. The drivers, who were both men, were unhurt.
Fire crews made the vehicles safe and cleaned up a small amount of fuel from the road before handing over to Merseyside Police for traffic control.
Two fire engines and the Rescue Team attended at around 9.20am last Friday (January 8) and were at the scene for around 25 minutes.
