HAVE you got what it takes to be crowned Miss Royal Beauty?

The St Helens heat will be held at the Theatre Royal on Saturday, January 16.

The winner of the regional heat will go through to Miss England and could be in with a chance to claim the title Miss World.

The organisers say it has been their objective in the last 15 years to move away from the traditional beauty contest judging women purely on looks.

The current Miss England is 19-year-old Natasha Hemmings, who is an opera singer and student from Cheshire. She represented England in Sanya in South China in December and had the opportunity to showcase her singing on a world stage and compete against 125 countries in the world's biggest competition which has a top prize of £100,000.

More than £700,000 has been raised by Miss England over the past five years for disadvantaged children in the UK.

To enter attend the application day at the theatre between 10am and 3pm on the Saturday where you will be photographed, asked to fill out a registration form and have a brief interview.

Contestants are invited to arrange sponsorship to support their campaign.

Entry costs £10 per applicant each will receive a professional photograph via email.

Applicants must be between 17 and 25 and at the time of the Miss World final they must not be married or have children. They must also live within a 50 mile radius of St Helens Theatre Royal.

A panel of judges will decide who will go through to the final on May 14. The final of Miss England will be held this summer and the winner will go through to Miss World.
