A MAN was left with a head injury following reports of an assault in the town centre in the early hours of Saturday (October 3).
Police were called to Westfield Street at 1.50am and found a paramedic treating a 27-year-old man who was on the floor.
He was taken to hospital but has since been discharged.
At this time he has declined to make a formal complaint of assault however officers are reviewing CCTV from the nearby area to see if the assault has been captured on camera.
The offender is believed to have left on foot.
Enquiries are ongoing.
