A SERIES of events have been organised to mark this year's Armed Forces Day on Saturday (June 27).
A parade will take place in Victoria Square with the armed forces, veterans and cadets to be present at Victoria Square for a service at the Cenotaph at 12 pm.
Meanwhile, the St Helens Sea Cadets are hosting a celebration at Mill St Barracks throughout the day.
Running from 9am to 4pm, there will be numerous art and craft stalls, face painting, refreshments, ice-cream with dance displays by the UC Crew also on.
Talented local singer Eleanor Nelly will also provide entertainment as well as the now famous army v navy tug of war.
The event is free of charge, family friendly and people are welcome to attend.
An Armed Forces Picnic Day takes place in Mesnes Park, Newton at 12pm on the day with local cadet forces in attendance. Hot food, ice cream will be available and a brass band will perform on the day.
Meanwhile, a fundraiser for the Newton Sea Cadets takes palce tonight (June 26) at 7.30pm at St John's Church, Earlestown.
The Haydock Male Voice choir will sing and tickets are available from £4 from the sea cadets.
