A WOMAN had to be rescued by firefighters after a chip pan fire broke out in a flat late last night.
Crews were called to the property on King Street in the town centre at 10.15pm. The fire caused severe damage to the kitchen with smoke spreading to the rest of the flat.
Paramedics also attended and took the woman to hospital.
