TWO words so closely connected.
Two words that say it all.
When you have nowt, you put up with owt.
Owt: when something comes to hand.
Just two words that Northerners will understand.
For most of us were brought up on nowt and we still have most of it.
It's only when we have nowt we make owt do.
Having a plum in your mouth won't feed you
No good trying to be posh if you have no dosh and your soles are worn through.
Many a rich man started off wi' nowt
Put up wi' 'owt and slowly prospered as some do.
Just: two small words so related in life's alphabet broadly spoken.
And yet owt and nowt were ever so true:
if you have nowt, owt will do.
Two of life's little words, when you had to make things do.
