CELEBRATE some of the most important people in your life with a host of events organised by a St Helens society.

Oddfellows’ annual initiative, which is in its fifth year, is aimed at highlighting the benefits of a close circle of friends as part of September’s friendship month.

Their range of events aim to make it easier for people who may feel isolated from family and friends to make new contacts.

Angela Smith, Oddfellows social secretary said: “We want to remind everyone how beneficial it is to have a good network of friends around you.

“We also want to make it really simple for people to get to know others locally through our open events as we appreciate how it can be quite a daunting experience intitially.

The events include a get together at Kaleidoscope Café at the World of Glass Museum at 10.30am next Thursday, September 18 and a friendship quiz night with hot pot at 17 North Road in St Helens at 7pm on Monday, September 22.

Tickets for the quiz night are £5 including hot pot and you are asked to bring your own drinks.
