A SHOP could be converted to a micro pub if proposals secure planning permission.
Applicant Dan Cunliffe hopes to transform the premises at 65 High Street, Newton-le-Willows to a venue selling cask ales, traditional ciders, rum and whisky.
Planning documents set out that the proposed pub would shun electronic entertainment and promote conversation. It would be open on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays.
St Helens Council will consider the proposals.
