THE circus is coming to town this weekend when town centre shoppers will be treated to a taste of the big top.
Clowns, jugglers on stilts, a giant trike and a balloon modeller will parade through Church Square this Saturday (June 21) between 11am and 4pm.
There will even be a chance to learn some of the tricks of the trade at a circus skills workshop.
St Helens Council Leader Barrie Grunewald said: “If you’re looking for fun then this is one event you don’t want to miss.
“But for us there’s also a serious message and that’s all about bringing people into the town centre to support local retailers.”
Other events coming soon to the town centre include:
- Dr Who Day: Saturday July 5 - Church Square.
- The flagship Summer Streets event: Thursday July 31 – Saturday August 2 - Church Square and Church Street.
- The Summer Beach: Tuesday August 5 – Saturday August 30 in Church Square.
