Sue Longworth has knitted hundreds of poppies.
Following my piece in the Star about knitted and crocheted poppies Anne Jones of St Helens branch of Soroptimist International tells me that members have been crafting such poppies for four years and have raised over £6,000 for the local branch of the Royal British Legion.
This year they are again knitting for the RBL and are always looking for knitters to help them create poppies.
