A MAN who died following a two car collision on St Helens Linkway on Friday night has been named as Peter Ernest Whitlow.
Mr Whitlow, 69, from Chester, had been driving a Ford C Max which had been in collision with a Mazda car which in turn collided with the central reservation barrier.
It is believed he was taken ill at the wheel.
Emergency services were called at around 10pm on Friday (February, 21) but Mr Whitlow died at the scene.
A post mortem, which was carried out on Tuesday (February 25), found that he died from natural causes.
The road was closed for several hours while collision investigators attended the scene.
