IT was a return home for Liverpool footballer Conor Coady who joined an estimated crowd of 1,000 people in Haydock for their Christmas lights switch-on.
Conor, who is from Haydock, teamed up with Saints pair Greg Richards and Alex Walmsley for the bumper event outside the library.
Choirs from local churches St James and St Marks helped get the proceedings under way before the crowd was entertained by singers Tom Loughlin and Jenna Scottow along with a foot-stomping performance from Haydock’s Valley Brass Band.
Haydock and Ashton Rotary Club also attended the event as part of their festive fundraising.
