AFTER his remarkable physical challenges and immense battle with cancer there can be no denying that Steve Prescott is hard as nails.
So it seems only fitting then that artist David Foster has produced a stunning tribute to Prescott in his unique ‘nail art’ style.
Last month the Star told how art became a form of therapy for David after he was forced out of work due to ill health.
After experimenting with various techniques and forms, the St Helens-born artist came up with a style that used nails to create images.
Winning the Warrington Contemporary Open and having his very own exhibition was a dream come true for David.
His success didn’t go unnoticed and soon after, he was contacted by the Steve Prescott Foundation and asked to produce a piece to be auctioned at the Solar King Pride of St Helens Awards 2013.
David, 51, said: “It was great to be asked to produce the piece for the charity.
“The Steve Prescott Foundation does some amazing work and I was only too happy to help.
“I’ve been told that pre-bids on the piece are already over £1,000 and all the money will be going to the charity.”
The artwork is currently being displayed in the window of Rennies Art Shop on Bridge Street, ready to be auctioned on Friday at the Solar King Pride of St Helens Awards.
