US singer Chris Brown has been arrested on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon.
Baylee Curran, a model and actress, told the Los Angeles Times that Brown pointed a gun at her face in his home early on Tuesday.
She said another man at his home and Brown became angry with her when she admired the man’s diamond necklace. Curran and a friend then ran outside as one of Brown’s associates gave chase and they hid under a neighbour’s car, she said.
Brown posted videos on his Instagram saying he was innocent, denying reports that he had barricaded himself in his home.
In one video, Brown said: “I don’t care. Y’all gonna stop playing with me like I’m the villain out here, like I’m going crazy.
“When you get the warrant or whatever you need to do, you’re going to walk right up in here and you’re going to see nothing. You idiots.”
Officers first responded to his hilltop estate around 3am on Tuesday local time after a woman called for help from outside the residence.
The arrest came after a lengthy search of Brown’s home. Los Angeles Police Lieutenant Chris Ramirez said Brown was being taken to central Los Angeles for booking.
Brown has repeatedly been in legal trouble. In 2009 he was convicted of the felony assault of his then-girlfriend, Rihanna, and after completing court-ordered anger management classes he was accused of throwing a brick at his mother’s car.
