Katy Perry was joined by her rumoured boyfriend Orlando Bloom as she showed her support for Hillary Clinton’s bid to become the next US president.
The pop star performed for delegates at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia as she urged Americans watching at home to vote and donate to Hillary’s presidential campaign.
“You’ll be just as powerful as any NRA lobbyist,” Katy said. “You’ll have as much say as any billionaire, or you’ll cancel out your weird cousin’s vote, if you like.”
The singer, who jokingly offered to lend new donors some of her outfits, performed her new song Rise and signature track Roar at the event, while Orlando watched in the audience.
Actress Chloe Grace Moretz urged young people not to sit out the election in November as she was joined at the convention by her boyfriend Brooklyn Beckham.
Singer-songwriter Carole King got delegates on their feet with a rendition of her classic song You’ve Got A Friend.
Accompanied by a group of backup singers, Carole concluded with the lyrics; “Hillary’s got so many friends, and Bernie, too, and all of us together.”
Long-time Prince collaborator Sheila E took to the drums for some upbeat Latin jazz, accompanied by her famous father Pete Escovedo and her brother Peter.
