So it’s gale force winds and absolutely pouring it down all over the country. But this week’s episode of Mary Berry’s Foolproof Cooking on BBC Two had the Queen of baking showing us her recipes for – wait for it – the “glorious summer time”.
People were particularly unhappy seeing as we’ve got, you know, an actual storm happening outside right now…
And it wasn’t just the fact she was BBQing chicken and wings and lamb burgers that got everyone talking – it was her chosen method.
Oh yeah, she also said there’s nothing better than crayfish fresh from river for the summer – so she went fishing. With a rod she made herself, of course.
And she actually caught something – she put bacon on the end of her makeshift fishing rod FYI.
She also made a Vietnamese inspired salad to go with the crayfish, with fresh ginger, that looked delicious – and that she said is perfect for a summer BBQ.
SHE JUST KEPT TALKING ABOUT BBQs.
And just to make us all feel better about how far away summer actually is, here’s a scene with her and husband (which was really cute to be fair), sitting happily in the sun with elderflower jellies and fresh strawberries as a snack.
OH COME ON MARY.
