EastEnders is about to bless two of its characters with some good news for once.
One lucky couple will get a rare happy storyline when they buy a lottery scratchcard and discover that they have scooped £1 million.
The scenes are due to air next week and the storyline is said to be an antidote to harrowing events such as the murder of Lucy Beale and Dot Branning’s trial after the death of her son, Nick.
A source told the Daily Mirror: “The winner has had their ups and downs but is a popular character. Viewers won’t begrudge them their good fortune.”
Whoever the lucky winner is, they will also apparently use their new fortune to try to buy The Queen Vic off Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) who has been battling his family over ownership of the boozer.
The episode is due to air on May 7 on BBC One.
