IF you’ve had your fill of turkey and mince pies and need a refreshing break before the New Year celebrations, there’s no better way than to go horse racing at Haydock Park for their popular Christmas and New Year fixture.
Your Star has teamed up with the racecourse to offer three lucky readers a pair of County Enclosure badges each on Wednesday 30 December.
The racecourse’s final fixture of 2009 includes the Last Fling Steeplechase, sponsored by Blackpool Tower & Circus and run over three and a half miles, commemorating one of the most popular horses to race at Haydock Park.
The racing also includes the R Draper Ltd Veterans’ Chase on a day when there is more than £80,000 prize-money on offer.
All you have to do is answer the following question correctly and post your answer to Haydock Christmas competition, St Helens Star, 23a Hardshaw Srtreet, St Helens WA10 1RT to arrive by Wednesday, Dec 23.

Admission to Haydock Park on Wednesday 30 December is £8 to the Newton Enclosure, £15 to Tattersalls, £23 to the County Enclosure, and £34 to the Premier Enclosure. Racing is between 1pm and 3.45pm.
Accompanied children under 16 enter free. Senior citizens and students, with appropriate identification, enter Tattersalls and the Newton Enclosure at half price.
