ONE of the original members of The Drifters is bringing Motown to St Helens for a one night only next month.

Roy G Hemmings, who was the longest serving member of the R&B group, will be bring the sounds of Motown, Philadelphia and the Stax and Atlantic record labels together for an action-packed show at St Helens Theatre Royal.

Roy has entertained audiences around the world in a career spanning four decades.

He has performed at several Royal Variety shows and twice at the White House for the then American President Bill Clinton.

Roy’s Hits Of Motown show on Friday, February 9, will start at 7.30pm.

It will feature songs from The Drifters, The Supremes, Martha Reeves and the Vandellas, the Four Tops, The Temptations, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Lionel Richie, to name but a few.

The electrifying show will include classic hits such as Stop In The Name Of Love, Dancing In The Street, I Can’t Help Myself, I Heard It Through The Grapevine, My Girl, Reach Out I’ll Be There and many more.

The Love Supremes’ smooth harmonies and slick dance routines will add a stunning dimension to the show.
